Dr. Ana Cecilia Sala is an Assistant Clinical Investigator at the Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is also Director of the Center for Behavioral Oncology at the Comprehensive Cancer Center Hospital. Dr. Sala is a clinical psychologist trained in multiple therapeutic modalities including Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (fACT). She has completed numerous trainings in health psychology and integrated care and has served as evaluator and rater on multiple research studies and clinical trials. She is a skilled psychologist with clinical and research experience with patients living with multiple medical conditions and has a particular interest in promoting emotional wellbeing in cancer survivors. She has worked alongside experienced researchers and clinicians in the field. Her most recent study focuses on assessing the impact of a specialized psychological intervention based on fACT, on the emotional sequalae of living with cancer as well its impact post-treatment. Her interests include cancer, healthy psychology, integrated care and third wave therapeutic approaches such as fACT. She wishes to pursue research initiatives, which will promote the routine integration of behavioral health consultants within oncology settings.(Updated Oct 30, 2023)
