Dr. Brenda Soto-Torres is an Associate Professor in the Public Health Program of Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU) since July 2014. She has worked in academia for 25 years. Dr. Soto-Torres completed her Ph.D. in Health and Exercise Sciences at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health Education and a Master’s of Science Degree in Health Law from the University of Puerto Rico-Medical Sciences Campus and Nova Southeastern University, respectively. Dr. Soto-Torres is an investigator in a U54 between Moffitt Cancer Center and the PHSU (add grant number). Her research interests include behavior change interventions, colorectal cancer, skin cancer, cancer genetic risk, teaching-related issues, health disparities, women’s issues, and gender-related violence.
